photoMission Statement
Welcome to the second grade at Dr. Green Elementary.  Together we will be exploring the world around us through reading, writing, math, science, music, and art. Our growth journey will be enhanced through interactions with other children who are fellow travelers in this learning adventure called life.

I grew up in west central Illinois, out in the cornfields.  I have four children who are now grown and living on the west coast and east coast, with one in the middle. I'm so proud that all of my children have graduated from college. My oldest daughter, who attended 5th grade at Dr. Green, just completed a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Statistics in March of 2015.  My mother and most of my six brothers and sisters live in Illinois and Iowa, so I will always consider myself a Midwestern girl.

I have tried to set an example for my students of what it means to be a life-long learner.
